Things to know before you buy

In brief: Sayph is deliberately limited, and we’d rather you knew exactly where the limits are before you spend money than discover them after. This page is the straight list: what the phone doesn’t do, what it costs in full, what you need to add yourself, and the small print on delivery and returns.

What the phone deliberately doesn’t do

• No contactless payments. There’s no Google Pay or tap-to-pay.
• No banking or money apps – so no Revolut, which in any case isn’t offered to under-18s as a standalone app.
• No third-party apps at all. Sayph has no app store by design; only Sayph’s own apps are on the phone. That’s what keeps it predictable – it isn’t a gap we’re working through, it’s the product. (You may spot the Google Play app on the phone: downloads from it are blocked, and it stays only so Sayph’s own apps can update.)

The child’s PIN can’t be reset

There is no parental override for a forgotten screen PIN. This is an Android-level constraint, not a Sayph choice. Write the PIN down when you set the phone up – the setup guide reminds you at the right moment.

The parent apps

You manage everything from Sayph Space. The web app at app.sayph.one works in any browser on any phone or computer, and there’s an iOS app. An Android parent app is not yet released and we don’t have a date – if you’re an Android family, plan on using the web app (it does everything) rather than buying on the strength of an app to come.

You’ll need a SIM (not included)

The phone takes a physical nano-SIM only – no eSIM – and we don’t sell SIMs. Any UK provider works. Choose a plan with data: around 5GB a month should be sufficient for most children. Our choosing a SIM page compares networks, including which ones include picture messaging.

Sayph Space plans and prices

Prices include VAT and are the web-app prices at app.sayph.one – subscribing through the iOS or Google Play apps costs more, so subscribe on the web. Billing starts on first login once the phone is linked. More than 3 children? Email us. Prices last updated 9 September 2026.

One subscription covers the whole family – a second parent joins by invitation, not by paying again.

Cameras and school mode

Both cameras arrive disabled by the phone’s management profile, and only a parent can enable them, in Sayph Space. School mode limits the phone to the contacts you’ve approved as emergency contacts. One thing to do during setup: approve 999 and set it as an emergency contact, so it can be called even in school mode – the setup guide walks you through it. Delivery and returns

• Free UK delivery by 24-hour tracked Royal Mail. Orders placed after 12pm on Friday ship the next working day.
• You have a 14-day cooling-off period from delivery, per our terms, with refunds in accordance with UK consumer law.

A factory reset doesn’t unlock it

A factory reset does not turn the phone into a standard Android phone. It stays managed by Sayph and simply returns to its initial setup state. If you’re weighing up resale or a change of heart later: yes, the phone can become a normal Samsung phone eventually – contact us and we can remove the Sayph management profile.
